Vegan Bacon



Slice tofu into 5mm pieces.
Squeeze as much water out as possible.
Freeze for 2 hours.

Take out of freezer and defrost in microwave so that any water does not get reabsorbed.
Press out more water.

For maranade:

small                                    large
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar      100g balsamic vinegar
5 tbsp soy sauce                  315g soy sauce
3 tbsp oil                             120g oil
3 tbsp liquid smoke            115g liquid smoke
pince of smoky salt             5 salt sprinkles

mix together

put tofu back into a bowl/tray it came in
pour over marinade leave for 5 mins
heat oven to 180c
turn tofu over so it is all covered for another 5 mins
place on a baking tray covered with grease proof paper
put in oven covered with more paper for 10 mins
turn over back in oven for 10 mins

cool and eat or freeze
